About The School
Central Catholic School proclaims the Good News of Jesus Christ and teaches children to embrace the values of the Catholic Church. We strive to develop in our students a strong sense of self-worth as well as a genuine concern for others. Children are taught to value themselves and all people as a reflection of God’s love.
Building from a tradition of excellence established by the Sisters of Providence at Saint Catherine School and Saint James School and the Sisters of Saint Joseph at Sacred Heart School, Central Catholic School continues to offer a high quality curriculum that addresses each child’s individual needs in regard to spiritual, academic, social, and physical development.

History of Central Catholic School
Central Catholic School was founded in 1974. The school developed from the consolidation of grade schools from Sacred Heart, St. Patrick, Holy Rosary, St. James, and St. Catherine parishes. Originally there were three locations for the school. Grades one through five were housed at St. Patrick and St. James. The junior high grades of six through eight were located at St. Catherine. This configuration lasted for two years. The children attending St. Patrick were relocated to St. James. In 1978 all students were housed at the St. Catherine’s location until 1996. At that time the school was moved back to the renovated facility at the St. James location. The two parishes of St. James and St. Catherine’s had been combined to form the new parish of Good Shepherd located on the grounds of the former St. James parish.
